Proverbs 2:4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, 2:5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
Unfortunately, a vast number of Christians in our generation see studying the Bible as a task reserved for preachers, scholars, and theologians. Somehow they are convinced that the careful examination of the Word of God is too difficult to commit to as a daily priority of life. Even the reading of Scripture alone is set aside for other pleasures, and if engaged in at all, it is only a duty. But have you thought of studying the Bible as a search for the most valuable of treasures? The archeologist or the explorer does not merely scratch the surface of the hardened earth with his fingers to collect common rocks! No, he digs deep with proper tools in order to find the most priceless of gems! And what greater treasure will the student of Scripture find than the knowledge of the God of heaven?!
